Safety, dignity and freedom from harm
Every person has the right to be treated with respect and to live free from abuse, neglect, discrimination, exploitation and avoidable harm. Solas expects concerns to be taken seriously, handled sensitively and referred to the appropriate authority when required.
Safeguarding concerns may involve physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse, neglect, coercive control, discriminatory treatment or misuse of personal information.
If you are worried about something connected to a Solas service, contact the Support Lead by phone or email. Explain what happened, who may be at risk and whether immediate action is needed. Do not place yourself or another person in greater danger while gathering information.
If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, call 112 or 999. Concerns about an adult at risk may also be raised with the relevant HSE Safeguarding and Protection Team.
Information will be shared only where necessary for safety, lawful reporting and a fair response. Confidentiality cannot be promised when withholding information could leave someone at risk.
